Corps of Engineers’ lakes to hold open house meetings on shoreline management plans

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that the Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) for Barren River, Nolin River, and Rough River Lakes, Kentucky, will be undergoing a periodic review and update in 2015.

In preparation for this update, staff at Barren, Nolin, and Rough River Lakes will hold open houses to accept suggestions from the public regarding possible changes to the SMP. During these open houses, staff from each lake will be available to answer questions regarding the current SMP and the process used to update the SMP.

The Corps will also accept suggestions for possible changes to the SMP at the meetings. Suggestions will be accepted until June 30, 2015, and may be submitted at an open house, by letter, by email, or by Facebook message. Suggestions will be considered during the update process, though incorporating all suggestions may not be feasible.
