On December 9-11 2014, Louisville District Commander Col. Chris Beck and Jacque Gee, Louisville District deputy for small business, attended the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Conference for Federal Engineering, Construction and Environmental Programs held in Kansas City, Missouri. Beck and Gee manned the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division booth throughout the conference and participated in the USACE Networking Roundtable held Dec. 10. Throughout the event, Beck and Gee met with both large and small business contractors to discuss their capabilities and potential contract opportunities with the Louisville District. On Dec. 11, Beck accepted the Louisville District's award for being the #9 USACE district in contract obligations to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) with approximately $39 million in contract obligations. More than 1,800 participants from across the nation attended the event.
