Photo of the Week: Bald Eagle released at Caeser Creek after rehabilitation
On Feb 15, 2017, the Glen Helen Raptor Center released a female Bald Eagle after being rehabilitated for a broken coracoid (the bone connecting the sternum itself to the forewing bone). Caesar Creek was chosen for the release because Bald Eagles prefer habitats that have large lakes or reservoirs with lots of fish that are surrounded by dense forests. In the photo you can see Glen Helen’s Raptor Center Director, Rebecca Jaramillo. (USACE photo by Jessica Zimmer)
