Environmental (HTRW) Services

We are pleased to welcome you to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division HTRW Design Center. The HTRW Design Center is located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Our service area encompasses the five-state area of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. For more than two centuries, the employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have been committed to serving you, our customers by providing comprehensive engineering, management and technical support to the Nation in peace and war. The HTRW Design Center is committed to providing services to protect and enhance the quality of our natural environment. Our scientific specialties provide the strength and variety of skills we bring to our customers’ projects. Our professionals have a wealth of experience, talent and diverse technical areas of expertise. Over three fourths of our staff is licensed, registered or certified in their area of expertise. We have an average of 18 years per person experience and 80% of our staff has greater than 10 years of experience; in addition more than half of the staff have advanced degrees. "Partnering" is a way of doing business at the Corps of Engineers. We "partner" with our contractors to resolve difficult environmental quality problems and attain the milestones on our schedules while maintaining the project monetary constraints. These efforts allow us to apply the skills of our contractors to a variety of difficult situations and allow us to build our experience base.

We are located in the Romano Mazzoli Federal Building, located downtown at 600 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Place, between Chestnut Street and Broadway, and between 6th and 7th Streets. Public parking is located at 7th and Magazine Streets.
