Water Safety

Please enjoy your visits to our lakes, but keep water safety in mind.

For your safety, you are encouraged to swim in designated areas only.

There is no lifeguard service at Corps beaches -- swim at your own risk. Always use the "Buddy System" -- don't swim alone.

Swimming, wading, snorkeling or scuba diving at one's own risk is permitted, except at boat launching sites, designated mooring points and public docks, or other areas so designated by the District Commander.

Each year many lives are lost or injured and millions of dollars in property damage occurs as the result of preventable recreational boating accidents on the Nation's waterways. Review safety tips, news, and local laws and regulations before you go - YOU can make a difference. Please take some time and visit the Army Corps of Engineers Water Safety website for more information.
