2020 Recreation Season
As America confronts the challenges of COVID-19, protecting the health and safety of the recreating public, volunteers and our government personnel is our highest priority. To further protect against the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed campgrounds will immediately begin an orderly shutdown. Individuals with paid reservations will be contacted by email and full refunds will automatically be processed by Recreation.gov with no cancellation fees. Individuals should not attempt to contact Recreation.gov nor request a refund or a cancellation fee will be charged. In addition, visitor centers, beaches, special events, USACE-sponsored events such as shore sweeps, interpretive programs, kids to parks, earth day events, public meetings and other public gatherings have been closed and/or put on hold until further notice.

Opening date postponed to at least May 31st, 2020: Opening day for Corps operated campground, Holmes Bend, at Green River Lake.
Reservations for this campground can be made at www.Recreation.gov, or by calling 1-877-345-6777, or be seeing the Park Attendant. Reservations can now be made the same day as arrival. You must have a reservation before setting up on a campsite; reserved campsites will no longer be marked!
Fees: $17 for primitive sites, $23 for electric only sites and $25 for water and electric sites.

May 9th, 2020: Friends of Green River Lake "I'm A Dam Runner" 5K Run/Walk. CANCELLED
This is the 10th Annual "I'm A Dam Runner" 5k put on by the volunteer group, The Friends of Green River Lake. More information coming soon.
TBA: Opening of Corps of Engineers Visitor Center on Weekends.
The Visitor will begin staying open on weekends and will be open 7 days a week from 7:30am - 5:00pm EST.
May 16th, 2020: National Kid's to Parks Day.

May 16th - 22nd, 2020: National Safe Boating Week.

June 6th- 14th, 2020: National Fishing and Boating Week.

June 6th, 2020: National Trails Day.
The American Hiking Society's National Trails Day is the country's largest celebration of trails. Visit this website, http://www.americanhiking.org/ , to find a location near you that will be hosting an event in celebration of the day.
June 6th, 2020: Kid's Outdoor Day. CANCELLED
A day of free outdoor related fun for kid's of all ages. Kids and their parents can come out and participate in several outdoor themed activities and get a free lunch all in one! Event is held at the Green River Lake State Park, registration is free. If spring flooding occurs, event could be postponed.
August 15th, 2020: Kid's Fishing Derby.
A day where local kids of all ages can come out and fish for free! All equipment is supplied, no registration is necessary. Prizes are given to kids who catch the most and biggest fish!
September 13th, 2020: Closing day for Corps operated campground, Smith Ridge, at Green River Lake.
September 15th - November 1st: Drawdown of lake 1/2'.
September 19th, 2020: National Public Lands Day/Take Pride in America Event - 34th Annual Green River Lake Volunteer Lakeshore Cleanup.
Come help us cleanup the shoreline. Registration sites will be at the Site 1 Boat Ramp, State Park, Smith Ridge Boat Ramp, Holmes Bend Boat Ramp, and Wilson Creek. Registration is free and a free lunch will be provider for all those that help out. Prize drawing to follow lunch; all will be held at the State Park Picnic Shelter at 12:00 noon EST.
September 26th, 2020: National Public Land's Day.

September 27th, 2020: Closing day for Corps operated campground, Pikes Ridge, at Green River Lake.
September 26th, 2020: Annual Duck Blind Drawing at Green River Lake Visitor Center.
The Green River Lake WMA waterfowl blind drawing will be held Saturday, Sept. 26. The drawing will be held at the Green River Lake Corps of Engineers office off KY 55, approximately 7 miles south of Campbellsville. Registration is 9 a.m. Eastern time with the drawing at 10 a.m.
Hunters may construct a permanent blind or use a boat or portable blind, but each blind site must be permanently pinned with a permanent marker identifying permit holders for the site. Those hunters selected hold first rights for use of the blind site, but these blinds sites open to public use if the selected hunters are not in the blinds by 30 minutes before shooting time.
October 3rd, 2020: Fishing With A Veteran Event.
Our Veterans have done so much for our country. As a way to give back to them and say Thank You for their service, we'd like to take them fishing. Veterans and fisherman are asked to pre-register before the event. The event will take place at the Holmes Bend Boat Ramp.
October 23rd - 24th, 2020: Holmes Bend Campground Fall Festival.
A day of fun filled Fall/Halloween themed events within the campground. Lots of games and activities followed trick or treating and by best decorated campsite contests and best costume contests. More info to come later in the year.
October 25th, 2020: Closing day for Corps operated campground, Holmes Bend, at Green River Lake.
November 1st - December 1st: Drawdown of lake continues 6 1/2' to winter elevation.
