Children, parents, residents, the Army Corps of Engineers and government officials gathered on a new concrete monolith to celebrate a construction completion and official ribbon cutting at the Copeland Bridge project in Breathitt County, Ky., March 21. Guest speakers included Col. Keith Landry, Louisville district commander; Breathitt County Judge Executive Jason Richardson; State Rep. Teddy Edmonds; State Senator Johnny Ray Turner; Stacia Peyton, deputy commissioner, Governor's Office for Local Development; and Congressman Hal Rogers.
