Welcome to the Barren River Lake website. The lake is situated in the rural, rolling hills of Allen, Barren and Monroe counties in South Central Kentucky, 95 miles southwest of Louisville and 90 miles northeast of Nashville (directions). The historic, scenic and natural beauty of the rural Kentucky landscape in combination with an intensively managed Corps of Engineers Lake provides for an exciting and safe family recreational experience that will long be remembered.

The Corps, in cooperation with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and other local governments, manages the land and water for wildlife, fisheries and recreation. A full range of development includes facilities for land and water-based recreation such as camping, fishing, boating, hunting, picnicking, and swimming. The menu on the right leads you to specific recreation and other lake information.

The periodic review of the Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) for Barren River, Nolin River and Rough River lakes has been completed. For additional information, visit the Shoreline Management Plan page, or contact the project office at any of these lakes.

New Annual Day Use Passes are NOW available at this location. More information may be accessed by clicking here.
