Update: Markland miter gate repair

The Louisville Repair fleet has departed for its home base on Shippingport Island in Louisville, Ky. There, repairs on both gate leaves and their components will continue. Both gate leaves have sustained structural damages but are repairable. The district expects the 1,200 ft. lock chamber to be reopened in April of 2010. Industry is reminded to use extreme caution using the 600 ft. lock chamber.
