The McAlpine Locks and Dam Replacement Project is located on the Ohio River at Louisville, Kentucky. It is at the downstream end of the Louisville and Portland Canal which bypasses the Falls of the Ohio. In the composite illustration, the left photograph shows McAlpine prior to construction.
